We’ve made it through January and Spring is well on the way, which gives us all the more reason to enjoy after work drinks with friends and live a little during the weekend. Surrounding ourselves with great company and a good glass of wine is certainly one of our favourite ways to wind down and here at Hyde & Son we take this activity very seriously!
Located on George Street in the center of Edinburgh Hyde & Son is designed for drinking, discovering, working or relaxing. We hand pick only the best suppliers to work with so that our drinks menus offer a journey of discovery. This certainly stands for our wine list, with a well-thought out, rounded offering with a glass to suit every taste. We believe that a list of simply 3 or 4 whites and reds simply does not cut it! It’s all about having an eclectic mix across the board – red, white, rose, sparkling and champagne.
Our wines are sourced from across the globe with each bottle created by producers with a passion for their own unique style of fermentation to make the finest quality wine – served by the glass or bottle. With both reds and whites originating from France and Spain to Greece and South Africa, and price points covering every budget you are simply spoiled for choice (and a great excuse to try more than one!)
One of our favourite suppliers we work closely with is Berry Bros, whose fine wine knowledge and expertise have allowed us to perfect our offering, and as Britain’s oldest wine merchant we can certainly trust them to know what they’re talking about! Our house wines, a fine Chardonnay and Merlot are a firm winner, and other varieties such as our white burgundy or red claret are simply the perfect accompaniment to evening conversation.
We have taken the time with our suppliers to carefully describe each wine on our list to offer a hand when choosing your perfect glass, and our bar staff are always enthusiastic to lend a recommendation! Our design-led contemporary space makes for the perfect setting to relax, or to get your night started! Join us every day of the week and make 2018 the year you learn a little more about and of course enjoy a little more wine!
